Here’s my Dinner plate Dahlia Pot holder.   I started growing these flowers when I was living in the great Northwest (WA).  They are huge, cheerful flowers and I fell in love with them when I saw them at various farmer’s stands at Seattle’s Pike Place Fish Market.

They grew well in my yard and when I moved back to the bay area (CA), I planted tons of them here as well.   The inspiration for this design was a Pennhill Dark Monarch Dahlia.   It is a gorgeous, huge, 12″ +, purple to fushia color, with a tad of yellow in the center center dahlia.  Here’s some garden shots 🙂
