Mermaid Pot Holder

Well this is my first completed double knit project for 2014. I like how her body pattern played perfectly into a dot for her belly bottom. I was inspired by a weather vane I saw in a magazine. It’s not actually much like the weather vane now, but I like how cheerful and friendly she is, plus the whimsy of a mermaid is just too fun to not do.
Yarn: Both colors are Lily Sugar’n Cream: Butter Cream Ombre and Hot Blue. Total weight 55 grams or ~23 grams per color (1-7/8 oz total or ~1 oz per color).
Size: unblocked 7-3/8″ x 8″, blocked 7-3/8″ x 7-3/4″
